Welcome to SNAPshops Boise! SNAPshops is a photography workshop for anyone who owns a camera, whether that be a point-and-shoot camera or a fancier SLR camera. It is not photography workshop for professional photographers…just the everyday average person who owns a camera, loves taking pictures, wants to learn the different settings on their camera and ultimately take better photos.
SNAPshops was originally started in Denver Colorado, by Mark Cafiero. He found that he could often take comparably great photos with his pocket-sized camera as he did with his top of the line SLR camera he used for his profession as a wedding photographer. Plus, it was a lot easier to carry around which provided more opportunities for fun and creative photography. In addition to being a very talented and creative photographer, Mark is also quite observant and noticed that while a lot of people have cameras and take pictures, many just needed a little instruction to take their photographs to the next level. He started SNAPshops for them and it has taken off remarkably! You may be wondering how I fit into this picture. A photographer myself, I have had, over the years, several requests from friends and acquaintances, to teach them about how to work their cameras and take better photos. I ran my first photography workshop for SLR camera users which was a huge success. Then I learned of SNAPshops and the emphasis on overall better photography for all camera users and decided I would start running that style of workshop here in Boise.
For $125 and two hours of your time, I PROMISE you will walk away from my SNAPshop shooting better than you have ever imagined. During the first hour you will learn the key features of your camera, some basic composition and framing techniques, and tips for working with all types of light. During the second hour we will hit the pavement and put the first hour’s lesson into practice. By the end of the workshop I guarantee you will leave with an image you would want to put into a frame.
